Soccer Tournament Weekend.

Well... it was a fun, eventful weekend at Commissioners Cup in Temecula.
We stayed down there for the weekend instead of driving back and forth.
We had two 8 a.m. games, and it was just easier this way.
It was nice. Johnny's team lost, won, then lost, but still amassed enough points to be in 2nd place in their division.
Alex's team lost, lost, then lost again.
It sure was fun!
The weather was cool, the sky was clear, and we just had fun hangin' out with all the other
players. Loads of us stayed in hotels.
The complex we played at was stellar. Truly top notch. 43 acres of sports complex and artificial turf. Really awesome.
I forgot my camera in the car during Johnny's games,
BAD MAMA!
***
So now we are home. I don't tell when I'm going to be gone... for security purposes, so now... if you were trying to get hold of me via blog, here I am... just went away.
***
I wanted so badly to hit up some wineries and go wine tasting... but I damaged my baby toe last night, and couldn't walk on it... I lost the toenail too...
EWWWWWW... I know!! TMI! TMI!
***
I'm going to make dinner now...
I missed ya all...

Click on the little arrows and you can see every page.

Getting bored yet?

I did this book last week.

I'm working on one now that is taking me forever. It seems I can only do a page a day right now.

Enjoy!

As you can tell... I love, love, love the beach.

Favorite Foto Friday

Please bear with me. I have a TON of bread baking to do for a catering job my Mama and I have... and I can't play on the computer today. Sooooo... I did another Scrapblog last week, and I thought I would share it with you.

I am having a blast on that site... My photo books I made of the last photo shoot arrive today... I'm so excited!

Writers Workshop

Woo hoo!!! I love me some writers workshop!
MamaKat @ Mamaslosinit.blogspot.com gave us this assignment this week...
I choose number 1 and 2 and 3.
Yes, I'm an over achiever this week.
Lack of sleep has made me nuts.
The Prompts:
1.) Tag! Post and write about the 6th picture from (the 6th folder of?) your Flickr account and then do the same for the 6th picture of the 6th folder on your computer.
2.) Are you still friends with you high school friends? Describe them.
3.) If you had to star in a reality tv show, which one would it be and why?
4.) Describe a time when your pet caused chaos.
***
Reality Show
It would HAVE to be The Amazing Race. I would win the million, (hey, it's my dream).
The reason is my love of travel.
If my butt isn't on a plane at LEAST twice a year, going on vacation... I am not a happy girl.
On my show... I would be able to pick each destination (again, my show)
and the destinations I would pick are as follows...
Tierra Del Fuego,
Greece,
India,
Morocco,
and Japan.
I would be agile, 5 ' 10", long, lean and drop dead gorgeous.
I would know how to say key phrases in each language, (it makes me so mad how rude the contestants are to expect other cultures to speak English), and I would be running against
my favorite people...
My Mama
My Papa
My Father in Law
Maya Angelou
Barack Obama
Steve Martin
Julia Roberts
Sandra Bullock
among others I can't think of at this moment.
In between takes, we would all laugh, drink wine and banter with each other, showing such commaraderie it would be ridiculous!
Ahhh dreams...

I am still friends with people I knew in Kindergarten!
Mari is one of a kind. She is kind, generous, hardworking, sympathetic and emotional.
ALWAYS ready to lend a hand, she is the consummate confidant.
She is probably the most easy going person I know.
She puts up with my mood swings, and knows not to take them personally.
She adores my kids, and enjoys them like a cool Auntie.
She is my soul sister... and I love her dearly.
***
Now for the 6th picture... I don't have a Flickr account... so I can only the 6th from the 6th...
Here goes..
This picture is from our 2006 Pampered Chef Incentive Trip
A 5 day cruise to the Caribbean.
This is on Key West, and Jimmy Buffett bar
Margaritaville.
We werent' allowed to take pictures inside the bar,
so we took one from the golf cart we rented.

Wordful Wednesday

I know... busy day on the blog thing.
Here is my Wordful Wednesday picture...

This was in New York City, just before seeing the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.

Just before puberty... and they all still adored me just because.

Christmas in New York has become a tradition, and it quite frankly the most beautiful city on earth at Christmas time. I can't wait to go back, and neither can they.

Boy was it cold.

***
4. Driving - I love, love, love to drive. It calms me down. I feel free and alive... especially in my convertible... when I drive it. (it's old... but topless... that's what counts!)

The other woman in my car.

Remember the good ole days...
Waaaayyy back when... when you drove in your car and the only noise or voices you heard were ones of either the radio or the kids?
Yeah... I miss those days.
I remember... in the not so distant past, when one needed to get from point A to point B, one only needed to either ask someone, or get a Thomas Guide.
Thomas Guides are quiet... they don't talk back, and I have never, ever wanted to strangle a Thomas Guide.
***
There are three letters in the alphabet I hate now.
The letters are
"G"
"P" and
"S".
Put them all together and what do you have?
GPS.
Yes.
I missed 48 minutes of my sons first High School Soccer game because of G, P, and S.
Yes... I used to love my Garmin GPS in my car.
I really did!
But today... today... it turned into the DEVIL! It is evil and MUST be destroyed!
Why.. oh why... do I rely on a device that depends on a Satellite miles above me possibly floating over Russia while I am looking for Beaumont High School? Why!!!!
(Yes, I know my cell phone relies on one too... but that is a whole other story)
That stupid thing took me to every. single. school in Beaumont EXCEPT the one I wanted.
It was mind numbingly ridiculous!
Her voice.... her voice seemed to take on a sarcastic tone, with every school we went to.
It was like she was taunting me.
Like she was having an affair with my husband, and wanted to prove she was the better woman.
Every time she said
"Recalulating" I pictured her neck with my hands wrapped tightly around it...squeezing... squeezing until no breath remains.
If Alex hadn't been in the front seat, I would have chucked her out the window.
Apparently the satellite nor ANYONE I ASKED THAT LIVES IN BEAUMONT knows that a BRAND NEW HIGH SCHOOL was built there last year.
I asked about 10 people while driving around where that God forsaken school was.
I happened to stumble upon it by accident. I followed a school bus that looked like it had high school aged kids in it.
So much for miss priss the Garmin lady.
***
So I saw the last half of the game. Will did really well. It's weird being able to see him without all the pads from football.
***
When we got home... I told the GPS off, and slowly disconnected her... so I could watch the power drain from her slowly until she finally died.
It was a beautiful sight.
Whose got the last laugh now... sista!
MMWahhhahahahahahah
I really showed her huh?
***
Yeah... I really need to get some sleep.
Insomnia sucks.

Insomnia

Have you ever seen or heard those ads on the radio and on TV about insomnia?
I have to admit... I couldn't understand how someone couldn't get to sleep at night.
I am definitely a night person... and I'm usually not in bed until at least midnight.
I enjoy having all the people I love asleep while I get my work done, knowing they are all safe and warm, and I don't have to run out and pick anyone up from somewhere.
I didn't understand how someone could be up all night, not able to fall asleep.
I thought maybe they napped during the day or slept in too much and they didn't need a sleep aid. I am a cynic from wwaaayyy back.
Although I don't get to bed early, I am an early riser. Even on weekends, I am up by 6:30 at the latest. I don't know why...my internal body clock must have me on "Time for school" mode.
I never understood insomnia...
UNTIL LAST WEEK!
***
I swear... I think I got a total of 10 hours sleep in 4 days from Wed to last night.
I tossed and turned all night Wed. night.
Didn't get to sleep until 5 a.m., then was up at 6:30 for no good reason.
My hubby slept until NOON!!! NOON!
He works and commutes 2 hours away everyday and leaves for work at 4 a.m. so I cut him lots of slack.
Thursday, although I have 1 1/2 hours of sleep, that night I didn't get to sleep until 3 a.m. and was up at 6 to get William to soccer practice.
Same thing Friday and Saturday.
Last night, I drank a huge cup of Chamomile tea, took at hot shower, laid down with a boring book, and played soothing music and STILL couldn't get to sleep until 1:30!
WHAT WRONG WITH ME!!!
Don't tell me to take sleep aids... THAT WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER happen. EVER!
***
I'm not tired today, I'm not worried about anything, my parents are okay, my kids are fine, my house is moderately clean...
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!!!
I thrive on 6-7 hours of sleep, and I'm not getting more than 3-4 right now!
I feel fine... but I notice I am more snippy than usual... and I am making a ton of mistakes typing this and having to fix them.
I'm pooped... but I am afraid to sleep during the day. I never nap. Ever. Unless I am on vacation, and then, it seems I take one everyday.
Maybe I should take a power nap... like 20 minutes. They say that replenishes you, but doesn't upset normal rhythms.
Oy vay!
Do any of your ever have spurts of insomnia?
Is it normal? I'm 40 now... could that be it? I'm actually almost 40 1/2! LOL!
This may be why I have been so emotional lately.
Today, I cried when my bank gave me back $64 they inadvertantly charged me for that $470.00 charge from QVC... which by the way, was given back to me promptly.
The poor Indian man on the phone that reversed the charges was on the verge of tears himself.
He was so happy he could help me in my time of need, and he wanted me to have a wonderful Christmas and a Merry New Year.
He said his name was Paul Jones... but you and I know his real name was something like
Purim Rashamedesham.
No matter... we both wept with joy over my $64 windfall.
It was a moment. We had a moment.
Maybe insomnia will make me a nicer, better person.
Nah... no such luck.
I'm going to drink caffiene now, and fold a mountain of laundry.
I know... everyone wants to be me right now.
You can't have my glamorous life.
It's all mine.
Neener... Neener.
