Week in review...

It has been a very fun, very interesting, very frantic week. *** I did the normal stuff, wrote 10 more pages of my novel, dropped off kids, picked up kids, went to kids games, practices and plays... But to throw a wrench in the mix, I had lunch with a few friends and went shopping all day long with my Mama on Thursday. I've decided to put myself back on my own list.
*** My Gazelle Power Plus exercise machine that I EARNED FOR FREE from Pampered Chef came in this week, and I have used it every day for the past 4 days now. So has the rest of the family. When Johnny uses it, it looks like he is just out swinging on swings. So cute! *** Shopping with my Mama was completely wonderful. We planned it a couple of weeks ago, and she took the whole day off just for the two of us. I had a Nordstroms, Macy's and Crate N Barrel gift cards burning a hole in my purse, and she wanted to go to Williams Sonoma to buy a few things. We went to Victoria Gardens, Homegoods, Tai Pan Trading, Macys, L'Occitane, The Body Shop, Cheesecake Factory for lunch, Old Navy, Crate n Barrel, The Wild Grape, Sephora for more Bare Escentuals and Philosophy stuff... and I was POOPED! *** That night, while at a Little League Board meeting, Bill casually asked me how shopping with Mama went, and what I got. When I ran down the list... his face contorted into something that resembled a stroke, and a few minutes later I realized he was mentally doing the math, and deducting what he thought may have been what I spent in each store. I have a motto, and he knows it... "I don't window shop. If I walk into a store, I MUST walk out with a bag of SOMETHING!" Which is precisely why I don't go shopping but every 3 months or so, for me anyway. The boys get stuff as needed. After his near heart attack, he realized I was very responsible with the money, and spent wisely, and he said he knew I needed the retail therapy badly. Such a good man. I even came home with something for him! See how thoughtful I am? *** My Mama craves time with me. I am her only daughter, and as she gets older, she has realized that her man (3rd husband) in her life, isn't the be all end all. I kept telling her to get a Great Dane... that they are smarter and warmer than this husband... but she married him anyway. Finally, she is seeing that having women around her is a good thing. She and I are so different and so much alike at the same time. She lives an hour away from us now (the jerk moved her away from her 6 grandkids) and we don't get to see her as often as we'd all like. I wish I could see her everyday like I used to when she lived closer. The boys miss her too. We don't allow her jerk of a husband around our children, so she comes alone, and he calls her every 2 minutes to ask when she is coming home. She hates it when I answer her phone for her... I'm not nice. That is another story all together... *** So now... Bill and my men are around our TV, complaining that it is only 27 inches... (yes, that's our largest TV in the house... lol) and they can't see all the plays and scores. I can't help but laugh. I tell them, a new roof is more of a priority than a new TV, they all shut right up. We are SOOOO not into keeping up with the Jones'. Until the tiny TV breaks, we won't be getting a new one. *** I made homemade Pizza for the game, as well as Potato Skins, Guacamole, and chips and dip. They are all bloated, water logged and happy sprawled on my couch now. *** So... that was my week in a nutshell. I hope yours was wonderful too. Have a great night! I off to watch Big Love!

  1. Wow you are a busy girl... all that and 10 pages too. I'm jealous... I can't wait to read your novel. You are such a go getter, so admirable.

I don't know what I would do if my mom wasn't around. She is my next door neighbor right now. Sometimes she drives me nuts but only because I know I am becoming more like her, LOL.

Our biggest TV... 27 inches... maybe 32... but old either way. It was great to hear about your week.

  8. Wow I am worn out just reading about all that shopping. I don't think I could keep up. I might try if you dangled Cheesecake Factory in front of me, though. I am the same way about the tv. The hubs keeps trying to get me to buy a new one for the bedroom but I don't see the point. And I really don't care that all the actors have a blue arm.
